Yes, we’re at it again. Not satisfied with one Guinness World Record, we are going for another.
We thought we’d set ourselves a real challenge this time. We are going to play Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 until we drop - 24 hours or more, to be precise. Now I know you are all going to do that too when it comes out, but we’ll be doing it under Guinness’ strict FPS marathon conditions. This means we’ll have an adjudicator present, as well as medical staff who will change shifts every four hours and independent witnesses present at all times.
In keeping with Guinness’ rules, the event will also be held in full public view throughout. And where better to hold it than at the upcoming i33 event in Berkshire on the 22nd March - the day after Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 comes out!
Our old friends at Multiplay were very happy to play host to our record attempt. With 1,500 tickets sold for the event there is going to be no way to hide from the glare of the public, watching and waiting to see if we’ll be able to keep playing. There are still spectator tickets available for i33, so if you’d like to come along and support us you can get tickets on the day at Newbury Racecourse. We’d love to see you there.
But even if you can’t make it in person, there’s still a terrific way to get involved. All three of us will be playing on Xbox Live throughout the 24 hours (and maybe beyond) and we’d like you to come and join us online. You can try to keep going for as long as possible, or maybe just keep us company for a while when you’re free. Remember to add our gamertags Kitt FDUK, Jam FDUK and Sarin FDUK up to 24 hours before the event. Please note that we’ll clear out our friends lists two days before the marathon, so wait till after that to send us a friend request!
