Feel the Rush with Motion Sports Adrenaline!
At PAX Prime Siren and I had the opportunity to demo Motion Sports Adrenaline, the latest installment of the full-body sports games for the Xbox 360 Kinect, PS3 dualshock and PS3 Move. But unlike other sports games, Motion Sports Adrenaline features 6 of the most dangerous sports in the world:
Kayaking - Over the river and down the...waterfalls! This game type will have you racing to gain speed not only to beat your friends, but also to avoid some of the dangerous pitfalls of the Amazon River waterfalls.
Wingsuit Diving - Although I’m way too scared to do this is real life, I think it’s neat that I’ll be able to “fly” in my Wingsuit in this extreme sport. This game type features races and speed challenges, obstacle-dodging, and additional points for special in-air moves.
Rock Climbing - It’s a race to the top for you and your friends in this co-op game type, featuring puzzle-solving, rope swinging and dodging falling debris!
Kitesurfing - This extreme surface-water sport not only requires balance, but also utilizes trick jumps and poses on your kiteboard. Keep your cool as you traverse through these stunning and brutal ocean courses.
Extreme Skiing - Fast speeds? Sick jumps? Dangerous slopes? Yup, this game type has all that and more! Prepare to use your jumping skills to perform some dangerous moves in this extreme winter sport.
Mountain Biking - Pedal faster, lean farther, and don’t forget to dodge those obstacles! Off-roading and speed racing in steep mountains makes this an exciting game mode, and you can perform some neat jumps if you time it just right!.
In my opinion, the fun in this game really starts when you get your friends involved. Co-op and competitive matches can have up to 4 players locally and 2 players online. In competitive modes, players can use collectibles picked up throughout the game to sabotage their friends by slowing them down or veering them off-course. This, mixed with difficult and often unyielding terrain, makes for a pretty extreme game. Only one question remains: Will you take the challenge?
