I’ve been in the majestic midst of Rocksmith since we announced the title at SXSW in Spring.
It has been an amazing experience to work so closely with a game I believe so strongly in and am so genuinely excited to play.
Finally, my hopes and dreams of learning to play guitar have come true.
I picked up a starter electric so I just have to grab the game and I’m ready to rock because Rocksmith is the first game you play with any real guitar with a jack!
With addicting gameplay that adapts to your personal skill level, you’ll automatically progress from single notes to complex chords at your own pace.
You’ll be playing 100% of the real guitar parts from the songs in the game.

If you’re a guitar beginner, you can still pick it up.
The game starts each song showing a portion of the notes/chords from the song and continually levels up and down to adapt to your skill level.
Unlike other music games with only 4 difficulty modes, our game adapts to your personal skill level in real time, making it possible for you to play and have fun.
So if you’re new to guitar, the game will treat you as such and constantly challenge you to improve without overwhelming you with notes or booing at and failing you.

Now on the other hand, if you’re an experienced guitar player, the game will recognize this and feed you the amount of notes that you’re able to play.
If that’s 100% of what the actual guitar is playing in the recorded song, then that’s terrific for you. You’ve just learned a new song while playing a video game.
Plus, what other video game out there allows you to plug in your own guitar? None! This is a one-of-a-kind experience that you are guaranteed to enjoy.
You can find many videos on Rocksmith’s YouTube channel demonstrating hands-on-gameplay over different levels guitar playing ability.

The game has an incredible library of songs from different music genres allowing players to experience that moment of learning a new song in a fun way first hand.
You can now learn to play new songs without laboring through tablature or cringing through poorly produced tutorials.
Rocksmith present you with new songs as well as challenge you to step away from the notes on screen and play from memory.

Rocksmith features both rhythm and lead guitar gameplay. You will be able to choose rhythm or lead before you begin playing a song.
Basically, whatever guitar parts are featured in the actual recorded song will be available for you to play in the game!

The game sports a split screen multiplayer mode where you and a friend will be able to rock side by side.

A wide variety of fun mini-games will challenge you to hone in on specific skills.
Whether its scales, picking, or finger dexterity you want to improve on, the mini-games will have you covered, and addicted.

In addition to a variety of amps and cabs, there are plenty of real effects pedals built into the game.
You’ll get to tweak your sounds, and string them together with nearly infinite combinations until you’re satisfied.
Whether it’s a crunchy distortion, a vintage tremolo, or a psychedelic reverb, we have the gamut covered to make sure you can achieve the sound you’re looking for.

[Rocksmith Launch Trailer]

Rocksmith is now available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and will be available on PC in December.
The game is priced at $79.99, and includes the game, along with a 1/4 inch to USB cable that plugs any guitar into your Xbox 360, PS3, or PC.
For those who don’t already own a guitar and our looking for a way to pick one up at a reasonable price, there’s a standard starter, an Epiphone Les Paul Junior guitar available as a bundle option with the game for $199.99.

To emphasize you can use ANY real guitar to play Rocksmith!
If your guitar has a standard ¼ inch jack for you to plug in a cable, then yes, your guitar will work.
If your guitar does not have a jack (for example, many acoustic guitars), you can go down to your local music store and buy a pickup, and your guitar will be ready to plug in and play.

All you need is a TV, a guitar, the game. You won’t need an amplifier to play the game.
With Rocksmith, your TV or home theatre system becomes your amplifier.
You plug your guitar directly into the console, and you play. It’s that easy!

Rocksmith’s song library spans from classic hits to current favorites.
Each of these songs will feature the real lead, rhythm, and combo guitar compositions found in the songs.
This is the first game that allows you to go from learning a song to unplugging and playing it all on your own!
The game is a revolutionary form of tablature to really learn to play these songs.
