Ubisoft certainly seems to have developed a taste for all things musical, if Fuse 07 and Jam Sessions are anything to go by.
Fuse 07 is the second gaming and music festival hosted by Ubisoft. Last year, as you might remember, we had fun out in the sticks when Fuse 06 took to Newbury Racecourse - this year it’s coming into London at Shepherds Bush Empire. The headliners for 07 are none other than J-Rockers Dir En Grey. Not only that, but if you fancy yourself as a bit of a musical warbler, there’s a Battle of the Bands competition where you can win a contract with Visible Noise. You can also vote for front runners! Just make sure you don’t vote for yourself as that would be cheating and bad, m’kay? There’s also a Battle of the Clans where you can fight it out in Rainbow Six Vegas to win big bucks. If you want to chance your arm at this, sign up here.
Jam Sessions is touted as a “guitar in your pocket”, where anyone can become a Brian May or Joe Satriani with the strum of a DS stylus. Create your own song or strum along to a bunch of set tracks. You may recall Kitt, Sarin and I having a go playing it at Download. Sadly I was rather rubbish and only mustered a weak rendition of Wild Thing, but singer/song-writer Richard Lewis (not the comedian) made a stunning live performance recently after just a week’s practice. Check it out in the video below.
Jam Sessions hits the shelves on September 28th. Fuse 07 kicks off at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London on 2nd November.
