I have a few things I’d like to get done this year. I’m been meaning to learn to drive for so long it’s getting embarrassing. I’m also getting ‘the fear.’ I’m a responsible adult now with a strong idea of just how dangerous the roads are. You should really learn to drive when you’re an arrogant youth who believes they have the ‘mad skills’.
The other thing that comes with getting older is a lack of free time. I love gaming but I don’t get to do it as much as wish. When I do get to play it’s often in snatched moments - an hour before bed or against a review deadline. I’m appalled by my lack of finishing power these days. I don’t get to see the end credits nearly as often as I should.
This is especially the case with games like Final Fantasy XII and more recently Eternal Sonata. I love both games but I just can’t make the effort to stick with them. Although I don’t have enough time for them, RPGs have always been my favourite genre of gaming and the idea that I would cut them out of my gaming life just isn’t on. My big gaming resolution this year will be to play my RPGs all the way through and you have permission to pull me up if you find me slacking off on this.
What are your New Year’s gaming resolutions?
