When we first thought of doing a peotry competition on the Frag Dolls forum we wondered if our forumers would be interested in flowery literary persuits. Writing poems is NOT easy as you can see by the Frag Dolls own entries! It’s not just about getting the form or the words right but actually expressing a heartfelt emotion about gaming, the dolls and your own lives and that, it turns out, isn’t that easy to do. Given how difficult a task it was we were suitable awed by the quality of entries and making a decision was extremely hard.
And so to the winners.
Our first place winner is the fabulous Uziyahu-IDF with this ode to the search for new dolls:
but of a tender rose guarded by thorns.
A toxin not of an ignominious hiss
but of a curious blade and a biting wit.
A feline not of raking and rending
but of disarming purring and licking.
These three your sistren shall be,
so what bringest thee?
Our second place prize goes to rabidtadpole with this wonderous poem of Frag dollness
Like fragged rabid tads of poles,
Once was 5 and now is 3,
Oh why? oh my! oh thy I see…
One is red as fire extinguisher,
One is older but still distingwishder..
Another is scientific like a bunsen burner,
And all as radiant as a gurner.
They playeth games with thier fair hands,
whilst sipping tea to sooth their glands,
But if a frag shoud gag thy tea…
I pray the lord thy blouse to keep.
Oh dolls so floopy, dolls so small,
Will thou cometh to the ball?
Play with me and let us aloft…
and tell me tales of Ubisoft…
doll, voles, trolls and poles,
You make me sing of sausage rolls,
And joy and smiles and smilies and cake,
As fine as rocks and true as fake.
Oh dolls… thus thy dolls…
as lonely as a cloud of golden dafodils.
Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all who entered. Keep a look out for our next competition!
