And next year’s words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning”
~T.S. Eliot, “Little Gidding”
As most of you know the Frag Dolls team has gone through a lot of changes and growth over the last six months. With our beloved Team Captain, Rhoulette and original Frag Doll Brooklyn moving on in their careers, we have undergone a big loss, but this has also allowed us to refocus and align the team’s goals and direction for future. It is with great excitement that we bring to you a taste of some of these changes.
Throughout the last few months we have identified new needs and desire to increase the team’s growth and ability to impact the industry and Ubisoft brands through the way we recruit our new Cadettes and Frag Dolls. The restructuring of the cadette program and how we recruit has now become a top priority, and we are instilling changes that have reflected the feedback from our Cadette surveys.
As the face of Ubisoft at industry events and online, it is imperative that we continue to groom Cadettes at a prestigious level, while trying to align with our goal of providing females a place to gain experience and network in the gaming industry. As Sabre’s Cadette recruitment blog discussed, we will begin implementing a new plan with the focus on raising the bar on who we recruit into the program. We have also extended the Cadette program duration to a year and lowered the number to eight total girls, which will consist of an equal split of veteran and new Cadettes. While this number may seem small, from feedback we have found it important to allow more event attendance- and we want to extend that opportunity to previous Cadettes as well.
We are also extremely excited to develop our Cadette training programs were we will provide relevant marketing experience and job training, to new and old Cadette classes alike, that will translate to resumes on a higher business level and provide more meaningful impact on job searches. It is our goal to give any Cadette wanting a leg up in the industry, the opportunity to learn and do more and we hope you will take advantage of this new development we are offering you. We want to help Cadettes succeed and provide them with the skill sets that will help situate them in this industry better.
With all these changes in mind, I have kept the biggest announcement till last. It is with great pleasure we announce a newest addition to the Frag Dolls team, Melonie McElhannon (a.k.a Melonie Mac./PMS Whisper), who will now be known as Cryptik FD. Melonie had been an active and extremely viable Cadette since her addition in the Spring 2010 class started. She has been interviewed multiple times before for a Frag Doll role, but the timing was never right, until now. Her personality, social media, video, and technical skills have always made her a perfect candidate and now we had an opportunity to snatch her up, which we have done with pride. She brings all the skills we would want in a new Frag Doll and feel she will be an inspirational addition to the team.
It is also with great anticipation that we announce we will soon begin the hiring process for one to two more Frag Dolls this year as well. While we are unsure of exactly when and how we will do this casting call, we have determined that we need more contributors the team and will be once again pulling from our cadette classes. We hope all of the cadettes will be excited and participate in this casting call when it happens, as well as the new opportunities we will be bringing them with job training and experience through the cadette program.
2012 promises to be a big year for the Frag Dolls and we are glad to have you all with us as we continue to develop and grow the Frag Dolls team!
