Christmas Diaries
Dec 29, 1:40 pm

Well it’s that time of year again when I scoot off to Ireland and eat far too much food. I have managed to have a rather good Christmas this year (as in all fairness I usually do!) so thought I might just fill you all in on a few of my highlights.

I only really managed to get into the Christmas spirit this year on the 23rd, which is a bit late.  I just didn’t have the holiday season on my mind, but thankfully my Mum had booked us seats at a christmas concert with two chiors and the Dublin orchestra, it was just magical. After singing along to some of the favourites and listening intently to rest, I really felt like it was time to eat mince pies and drink mulled wine.

This was followed by going to a surprise 60th birthday party for one of my parents friends, which was good fun. It made me feel right at home with members of the towns folk getting up to sing and the birthday man himself joining the band on the drum kit and bodhran. There was much dancing, eating and drinking to be had by all. So having partied and listened to a lifetime’s worth of carols I was prepared to wrap presents and wait for Christmas day to roll around.

I love Christmas day, I still find it exciting, all the presents under the tree and the cris cold weather. This year I got a Su Doku book (with a set of glitter pens to fill it in), a model plane that actually flies, a jigsaw and a gun slingers game! So I promptly crashed my plane into a nearby garden and had to climb through their flower beds to retrieve it, completed my jigsaw and ate far to much food. Later that evening the gun slingers game (complete with toy mexicans to shoot and an infra red gun) kept my mind off the fact that my Christmas Wii and all those games were sitting unwrapped in oh so distant UK. That is until the music became too annoying and someone suggested Trivial Pursuit ...

So there you have it, Christmas with Sarin. I hope you are all recovering nicely from your many hangovers and ready to do such winter things as head to the Game On exibition and hit those New Year sales.

A very merry post Christmas to all!
