’Twas the night before Halo when all through the house, not a creature was stirring not even a mouse. And me in my Frag Tee and mama in her VIP pass, we both settled down for a good night of launch part-ay!
Okay enough of that. So it is finally the release day of Halo 3. It isn’t quite the second coming of Christmas (despite the gleeful faces of the gaming-public wanting you to believe otherwise), but I had the privilege of greeting the game in a way all games should be greeted - at the launch party in London last night.

Arriving at the London IMAX it was obvious where I was going and I quickly made my way inside. I was greeted first by a bouncer and then by a cry of “just let her in mate, she’s a Frag Doll,’ which was rather nice and quickly ended the security questions.
A familiar choral chant filled my ears and the Halo 3 logo was plastered on every available wall. I will admit that I was a little late but luckily I was saved a seat in the front row of the auditorium and got to see the new battle played out in IMAX glory very very close to where I was sitting. I would now go into a spiel about how it looked, how it played, and what it had to offer… but you all know all that stuff, and 90% of you probably have the game by now anyway!

After all had been unveiled we were filtered back into the gaming area. Free beer and LAN consoles took over my senses as I surveyed the lobby. Some familiar faces were present and was nice to see Ben Talbot and none other than the number one Halo 2 gamer in Europe, Harry Thomas! (He doesn’t look so scary....)

So at the end of the night I found myself back at home and at a bit of a loss. I guess I should get on with finishing the battle. Wish me luck!
