What kind of pile do you have?

Around this time every year, I am reminded of how being a gamer can become overwhelming, so many games and so little time. We have have a discussion going on in our forums about all the games we have backed up on our “to play” pile.  With so many great titles out where does one begin?

I want to play everything but I am realistic about my goals, or am I? I want to play every game and finish it. Is that realistic?

When was the last time you finished an entire game before moving on to the next one? Are you the kind of gamer that plays the hot new title everyone else is playing and then when the next big game launches you abandon that game and move on only to never go back? I must admit that I have been guilty of that in the past.

When was the last time you paid $60 for a game only to put it in and feel ripped off? This doesn’t happen to me too often any more. I do quite a bit of research on a game before I spend the money. I try and play games I’m interested in ahead of time at conventions and through betas. I also read a lot of different opinions in the gaming magazines I trust. And our Frag Doll Community has a pretty good handle on what is good and what sucks.  So, I know all the games I have piled up waiting for me to give them a go are worth my time and effort. But where do I start?

THE LIST

Just Dance 3
Uncharted 3
Rabbids Alive & Kicking
Power Up Heroes
Dance Central 2
Batman Arkham City
Rayman Origins
Battlefield 3
Assassin’s Creed Revelations
Modern Warfare 3
Driver San Francisco
Halo Anniversary
Crysis 2
Alice: The Madness Returns

With my ridiculous long list of games to play I have devised a plan this holiday to play through everything on my list. How you might ask? After all, I’m a mother, a wife, an aunt, I have a full time job and I have a lot of traveling to do this holiday season. I know you’re thinking, there is no way you will have time for all those games. Well, you’re right. But I’m going to try my hardest…some games may have to be sacrificed, and I may only be able to concentrate on multiplayer or just the campaign on some, I’m ok with that, as long as I get through the majority of my pile.

I figure I have about 5 to 7 hrs of time I can devote to gaming each day. That’s if I don’t do any house work, run any errands or take any showers. Just joking...kind of.

Some of the Kinect games are the kind of games I will stretch out and complete over time. Most of these games I can play with other people and I am blessed to have a family that loves to game together. I also have all of you to play with and a lot of you are in the same boat. We can play our way through our piles together.
